We all need support at one time or another with the important work of parenting.

Parent Connections is a network of individuals, and community and government organizations working together to raise awareness on the essential role that parents play in the development of children.  The current Parent Connection’s committee originally came together out of a desire to build safer, healthier communities through enhancing supports and services for parents. Through several years of research, we have discovered that community agencies need assistance in engaging parents in existing services and programs. As well, parents need a tool to locate these services in their areas. We offer several services focused on enhancing agencies’ ability to make their programs more accessible, affordable, inclusive, and respectful, for any parents seeking support. As well, we aid parents in connecting with services throughout St. John’s and surrounding areas. The resources that we offer, and are available within this site are:

Connecting Parents:  Resources for Community-based Organizations to Develop Effective Peer Parent Volunteer Programs: This resource manual is full of practical tools and resources to assist any community-based organization that wants to extend its reach and effectiveness through building networks of peer parent volunteers.
